Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences (Dornbirn, Austria)

Non-European students who study abroad at an Austrian university of applied sciences, such as Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences, may apply for an Ernst Mach Grant for semester study.  These grants are available to master-level students as well as to bachelor-level students who have completed at least 4 semesters of study prior to their exchange period in Austria.  Due to the grant deadline, the Magellan application must be completed early in order to be eligible to apply for the grant.

Courses are available for business and multimedia students.

Dr. Marvin Swanson Magellan Exchange Scholarship

Having earned a doctorate in world religions, Dr. Marvin Swanson was passionate about culture and international relations. After retiring from Southeast Missouri State University as the Director of International Programs, he founded a non-profit organization called Cultural Exchange Network (Cenet), followed shortly thereafter by the Magellan Exchange. A large part of his vision was to inspire students in the United States, particularly those in the Midwest, to have international experiences, and he was passionate about facilitating those exchanges. In honor of his passion and the legacy he left, the Dr. Marvin Swanson Magellan Exchange Scholarship will be awarded twice per year.

Why Not Me?: The Journey that Changes Everything Scholarship

As a university student, Tori Patterson saw international programs as “great for other people”—not for a farmer’s daughter from rural Missouri who didn’t know anyone who had ever traveled abroad. But one question — why not me? — and one short-term program changed everything. Since then, she has visited more than 60 countries, lived in 4, and built a career helping students experience the same lifechanging magic of studying abroad. To celebrate her 20 years of service (and counting!) to Magellan, the Why Not Me?: The Journey that Changes Everything Scholarship will be awarded 3 times per year.
