Recruiting & Advising

Coordinators at each institution are responsible for promoting The Magellan Exchange to their students and for advising students as appropriate.  The Magellan Exchange will assist with this process by answering questions, obtaining helpful information from member institutions to assist prospective exchange students, and providing access to useful resources.  

Please refer your interested students to the online application.  Students will indicate their choice of three preferred institutions on the application.  Since specific placements cannot be guaranteed in advance, advising students to seriously consider multiple locations prior to the application process is appreciated.  Every effort will be made to confirm a placement at a preferred institution; in the event that space is unavailable, you will be advised of alternate possibilities so that you can discuss options with the student. 

Viewing Your Students’ Confirmed Placements
Coordinators may access the placements of their students by logging in, clicking "Outgoing Students" and then setting the search criteria to the appropriate semester/year. If The Magellan Exchange has confirmed a placement for them, their status will be "Placed" and you will see the host school noted. 

Once students are placed, all subsequent information (course registration, housing, documentation requirements, etc.) is handled directly between the host institution and the incoming student.
